TNAW (Tipisa Natvie American Weekend from March 4th to 6th) was the largest they have had with 1860 pre-registered and 300 walk-ins. Previous high was 1400+.
787 has been doing the Dutch Oven Cooking booth for 5+ years and have a set menu with ability to adjust based on number of attendees. I did scale up some areas based on the pre-registrations. Typically we have some left-over unused food. This time we had zero items left to cook. We had some partials: Milk, 2 sticks of butter, 2 grand biscuits, 2 pounds of hamburger. We essentially cooked it all.
The scout team of: Michael P., Elliot P., Aaron G., Surya B., William C., Nathan K. and Rowan G. Camron M. had other duties on staff at TNAW but did put some time in at the booth. These scouts were swamped for 3-4 hours with Cubs cooking Cinnamon Apples. They also assisted on food prep for Beef Stew, Sloppy Joes, Swamp Chicken, Sticky Buns, Cowboy Potatoes, Pizzas, Brownies, Pineapple Upside Down Cake. Mixed Lemonade and Tea for drinks.
They also filled the role of servers for the food after it was cooked and ready to serve.
We had an adult team coaching, mentoring, monitoring the ovens ensuring all items came off fully cooked and ready to serve. Onsite we had: Duane Fogg, Theresa Karnes, Tom Hoisington, Scott Powell, Miguel Santiago, Wilbur Rennolds, Paul Deluca, Greg Kennedy, Luis Garcia. Moral support provided by Lee Cooper.
It was a JOB WELL DONE by all.
