Highlight: Building a Time Capsule (Requirement #2b)
One of our favorite parts of this award is building a troop time capsule (real, digital, or a simple list) full of items that capture what Scouting is all about. Start thinking now about what you’d like to contribute – we’ll collect items at the July 21 meeting and seal it on July 28.
This Weekend: 250th Anniversary Kickoff
This weekend marks America’s 250th anniversary, and it’s a perfect way to jump-start this award. Requirement #4 (Founding Era Site Visit) can be completed by participating in a 250th anniversary celebration event – so if your family is attending anything this weekend, it counts! Take a few pictures or notes so your Scout can share about it.
Service Project (Requirement #5)
We’re still finalizing our service project – we’ll share details as soon as they’re set. In the meantime, Scouts can log any service hours that reflect founding ideals like community service or civic responsibility.
