Troop family!
Samaritan’s Purse, a ministry of Franklin Graham (son of Billy Graham) will again be collecting and distributing shoeboxes of gifts to children in war-torn/ravaged areas of the world. (https://www.samaritanspurse.org/)
For 28 yrs, Troop 787 has participated by building shoeboxes that bring joy, love, hope – and most importantly, the Gospel Message of Jesus to children in some 179 countries. If you want a pre-printed sheet like the ones handed out on 10 OCT – see Mrs. Judy Ortiz; she has a stack of them with labels.
Please, take an hour to fill a shoebox; instructions are attached. With your help, we can reach a child who has nothing and give them the joy of Christmas.
Bring your shoebox(es) to the Troop Meeting on 14 NOV; I’ll collect them and get ‘em to the local send-off point. If you can’t make the meeting, shoeboxes may be dropped off at Willow Creek Church and/or East Coast Believers Church during the week of 13 NOV 23 only. Why so early for Christmas? It takes time to process these boxes—and then get them sent all over the world.
Won’t you please help? The generosity of Troop 787 is legendary. Let’s keep the reputation!
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
