This is a FREE camp @ La-No-Che, but we need some of your volunteer time. This Webelos Transition weekend campout is organized through the Central Florida Council, our troop is hosting a hands-on cooking demo for Webelos scouts and their families who will be moving into BSA Scouts. Also, if you’re able to just come up for the day and help, that’s good too.
Event and help needed:
- Our scouts will be teaching the Webelos and AOL scouts boil-in-a-bag omelets and foil packets. It’s hands on, and there are 8 – 50 minute sessions.
- Service hours for Bright Futures is available.
- We need at least 8 youth and 3 adults for this event as a minimum, more is fine.
Cooking:
This whole event is about cooking, so naturally, this means we will be cooking as a troop for meals, however expected duty roster for meals outside the events.
Troop Time and Events:
- Campfire program
- Scouts skills practice and sign-offs
- Opportunities for Board of reviews and scoutmaster conferences
Sleeping / Camping options:
- We will be located in campsite 19, which has bunk cabins (open air and screened in ).
- Scouts will bunk in the cabins by patrol.
- Adults have the option to use the scoutmaster bunks or personal tent.
Departure/Arrival location:
- Arrive at Black Hammock by 5:30 pm for immediate carpool departure on Friday (Dec 1st).
- Pick up at Black Hammock at approximately 11:30am on Sunday (Dec 3rd).
People:
- Mr. Gatza has the lead for the weekend activities.
- Mr Kaplan is tracking the registrations and setting up driver/rider list
- Mr Rennolds/Mr Hoisington is picking up all the food for the weekend.
