Event Type

June 14th, is Flag Day.  The city of Longwood in conjunction with HeroesStrong, is hosting a Flag Retirement ceremony. This event is open to everyone in the community. Anyone with a torn or damaged American flag is invited to properly retire their flag at this event.

Our very own Logan Gatza, along with Troop 787, has been invited to be part of this tradition. Logan is slated to lead the opening Pledge of Allegiance and the flag folding portion of the ceremony.

HeroesStrong is looking for a minimum of 4 scouts from Troop 787 (although all are welcome) to assist in the ceremony. We’ve been asked to have two Star, Life or Eagle scouts perform the flag folding duties while Logan reads the ceremony and two scouts to tend the fire.

  • 5:45pm – Volunteer Check-in
  • 6:00pm – program begins
  • 6:40pm – Pledge of allegiance and flag folding
  • 7:15-7:30 – program concludes.

Please register via Troopmaster so I can get an accurate count of how many to expect.
