Program: Canoeing
Program Patrol: Mighty Dragons
April’s campout will be a fun-filled camp out, where you can earn and learn the practical skills to achieve your canoeing merit badge or improve skills previously learnt! The campout will be located at Camp Shands which is a BSA summer camp located between Jacksonville and Gainesville (Apx 2h away). We have managed to secure the coveted tree houses.
Activities:
- We have reserved the “Tree Houses” – Campsite 12, Tree Houses A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H
- We have the waterfront and canoes reserved from 8 am to 4 pm on Saturday.
- Traditional patrol Camping for Scout Meals (except Saturday Lunch – Adults to cook lunch Saturday for ALL)
Notes:
NOTE1: Need to have taken a BSA swim test to participate in lakefront canoeing activities ALL day Saturday. (please pack sunscreen!)
NOTE2: Patrol cooking *except Saturday lunch, Adults provided, to allow more time on the waterfront/canoeing.
NOTE3: Each Treehouse has 8 bunks (sleeps 8) and there are 4 houses (32 spots). These will be first come first serve, or if your scout prefers to sleep in their own tent let us know.
