On page 268 and 269 of the Boy Scout Handbook you will find a personal camping gear and group camping gear checklists. A few things are different because of COVID-19 restrictions:
At least 2 pairs of clean face masks or neck gaiters
A personal eating kit is not required, as the ASMs will be preparing all food, utilizing disposable eating utensils and cups.
Double check that you have gear appropriate for spending time on the water: Sunscreen, hat, swimsuit, WATER SHOES, extra water bottle, dry bag (optional).
Schedule:
Friday
- 5:00 Arrive at WCC: Load Scout gear in trailer, temperature checks, Scout car assignments
- 5:30 Depart for Long Point Park
- 8:30 Unload trailer, set camps
- 9:45 Last call for restroom before lights out 10:00 Adult escort to restroom / star gazing
- 11:00 Lights out / quiet time
Saturday
- 7:00 Wake up
- 8:00 Breakfast
- 9:30 Aviation Merit Badge requirement 3.b.: Model airplane building and competition.
- 12:00 Lunch
- 1:00 Unload canoes, practice canoe skills
- 1:30 Scout Skills Scavenger Hunt on Scout Island and surrounding islands
- 6:30 Dinner
- 7:30 Fire building skills and competition
- 8:30 Campfire
- 9:45 Last call for restroom before lights out
- 10:00 Adult escort to restroom / star gazing
- 11:00 Lights out / quiet time
Sunday
- 7:00 Wake up
- 8:00 Breakfast
- 9:00 Load canoes
- 9:30 Pack up camp and load trailer
- 11:00 Check out and depart
- 1:00 Arrive at WCC. Unload trailers.
- 2:00 Dismissal
