Thunder Participant Release Form
Friday, January 17
- Be at Willow Creek by 5:30pm fed (or with a bagged meal) and a duffel bag with Sleeping Bag, Sleeping Pad, Change of clothes, toiletries, and cash for two breakfasts and a lunch.
- Leave Willow Creek around 6pm to Moody AFB (outside of Valdosta GA)
- Arrive at Moody AFB around 10pm — detailed information regarding where to enter the base will be sent at a later date.
Saturday, January 18
- Leave Moody AFB around 5:30am to Camp Thunder.
- Stop for quick breakfast on the way. Self Paid.
- Arrive at Camp Thunder around 9:30am
- Unload truck and setup camp
- Lunch [provided by Troop] around 12pm
- Patrols hiking to Back country sites leave base camp by 2pm
- Dinner by patrol either at Base Camp or Back Country
Sunday, January 19
- Breakfast by patrol either at Base Camp or Back Country
- Activity sessions (9am-11:30am)
- Back Country patrols hike back to Base Camp
- Base Camp patrols go to activity areas (about 10-15 minute walk)
- Lunch by patrol at Base Camp
- Activity sessions (1pm-4pm)
- Base Camp patrols go to activity areas (about 10-15 minute walk)
- There is a trading post that is usually open for souvenirs.
- Dinner by patrol at Base Camp
- Pack the truck
- Movie Night
Monday, January 20
- Last call for items on the truck is 6:40am
- Truck leaves at 7am
- Scouts police the camp.
- Leave camp by 8am.
- Breakfast and Lunch on way back to Willow Creek are Self Paid.
- Arrive at Willow Creek by 3pm.
- Unload Truck and put away all gear. Scouts are not dismissed until all gear is put away.
